Q:  What's a Tax Credit versus a Tax Deduction?
A:  Of the two, the tax credit is the more beneficial.  Deductions help reduce your earnings and a tax credit reduces the amount of tax you pay on those earnings.
 
Q:  What are the timelines involved?
A:  A qualifying Blaze King unit must be put into service between January 1,
2009 and December 31, 2010.  The tax credit should be claimed in the same year the unit is put into service.
 
Q:  How do I know which Blaze King wood stove or insert qualifies for the credit?
A:  All qualifying products are labeled on this web site.  We do encourage you to meet with your Blaze King dealer to discuss your needs and to select the correct stove for your application.
 
Q:  30% Up to $1500, I am confused.
A:  This tax credit is 30% of your purchase amount which can include the cost of your new Blaze King, installation and venting system.  The maximum amount is $1500.
 
Q:  Do I mail in the certificate with my tax filing?
A:  The IRS is not requiring you to mail in your proof of purchase or your certificate.  They do however you to retain such items in your tax records.
For any clarification consult your account, tax advisor or the IRS.
 
Q:  So how efficient are Blaze King wood stoves compared to other wood stoves?
A:  This may sound a bit bias, but the truth is there is no comparison.  The legislation allows any biomass heater with a low heat value of 75% or greater to qualify for the tax credit.  Any wood stove that qualifies for the tax credit is better than the older non-EPA approved wood stoves.  But the very best for the environment are Blaze King catalytic wood stoves.

These stoves are far more efficient, burn much cleaner and use far less wood to heat the same amount of space.  Remember, only Blaze King can lay claim to the title of longest burning woods stoves and back it up!
