We are looking for people with a “can-do” attitude to join the team in our fast paced manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with hand tools, ability to read a tape measure, follow shop drawings, and attention to detail are desired skills.
These positions may require some heavy lifting (up to 50lbs) and may involve tasks such as parts washing, sanding, grinding, painting and assembly work and other miscellaneous tasks as required.

These are entry level production positions but Valley Comfort Systems offers the right candidates the opportunity to learn various CNC metal processing equipment. There is a great compensation package including a competitive starting wage, as well as a benefit package (extended health, dental, vision) after the 3 month probationary period. Within the first year of employment, our compensation package also includes an employee share purchase plan, safety boot allowance, and matching RRSP program.

Our welders work together in a production “flow” environment and the ability and initiative to cross train and learn various tasks is a highly desired employee trait. We welcome recent grads or current students in the Okanagan College welding program and we are proud to sponsor Welding and Fabricating apprentices! We also have positions for Production Workers for various stages of manufacturing.

Blaze King Industries, Inc., a hearth products industry leader since 1977, is seeking a Lab Technician to work in our Product Development Department. This role will primarily support product development, but will also assist production and quality assurance. The successful candidate will be creative, passionate, and self-motivated and willing to work and learn in an ever-evolving environment.

Desired skills & Relevant work experience:

• Mechanical Engineering degree/diploma, or working towards, from an accredited post secondary institution

• Working knowledge of Solid Works CAD software and ERP software
• Good comprehension of technical writing (UL, ULC, CSA test methods)
• Previous work experience in HVAC, steel fabrication or production, natural gas /propane and or wood / gas heating appliances
• A valid passport with the ability to travel internationally (to Canada) is an asset

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate various laboratory instruments for wood and gas appliance developmental testing purposes
• Utilize Solid Works to create and maintain parts, drawings, assembly models and BOMs
• Utilize MS Office to create data input sheets in order to document various performance tests
• Develop and maintain standard work instructions and push continuous improvement initiatives
• Physical inspection of production parts and ability to work with operators to root cause non-conformances
• Physical inspection of supplier components for quality control conformance upon receipt
• Design and fabricate jigs and fixtures for ease of manufacturing and quality assurance
• Provide technical diagnostic instruction to quality assurance and sales team
• Other departmental duties as required
  • Duties will require sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time and occasionally climbing stairs/ladders, kneeling, bending, turning, reaching, and lifting/moving up to 60 pounds
